C.R.A.B. BEACH WHEELCHAIR PROGRAM

THE 2007 SEASON WAS ANOTHER SUCCESSFUL SEASON FOR OUR BEACH WHEELCHAIR PROGRAM. OUR CHAIRS WERE IN USE FROM MARCH UNTIL EARLY NOVEMBER THIS YEAR! THANK YOU TO ALL WHO SUPPORTED OUR BEACH WHEELCHAIR PROGRAM. PLEASE CONSIDER CONTRIBUTING TO OUR PROGRAM SO WE MAY CONTINUE TO OFFER THIS POPULAR AND VALUABLE SERVICE IN THE FUTURE.

Thanks to the generosity of our members and supporters, we have been able to purchase a second Beach Wheelchair. The chairs are available FREE of CHARGE to anyone in the Point Pleasant Beach area. To make arrangements to use a chair please contact Ralph at 732-361-CRAB (2722)

***Beach wheelchairs can be reserved in advance. Please call to have your information placed on our reservation calendar.

Although there is no charge for the use of the wheelchair, you will be required to sign a liability waiver as a condition of use.

OUR BEACH WHEELCHAIR PROGRAM GOT OFF TO AN EARLY START THIS YEAR WITH A REQUEST TO USE A CHAIR DURING A FUNDRAISER EVENT SPONSORED BY THE CENTRAL UNITED METHODIST CHURCH. THE POLAR BEAR PLUNGE RAISED MONEY FOR KATRINA RELIEF EFFORTS. The event was held on the beach at the Windswept Motel in Point Pleasant Beach on Sunday March 4, 2007. The air temperature was in the low 40's but with the strong winds it felt much colder! Congratulations to all the brave participants for taking the plunge for such a worthy cause!

I just wanted to thank you so much for providing me with the beach chair so that I could enjoy the polar bear plunge. It truly meant a lot to me. Thank you for taking your time on a Sunday to get the chair out of storage and deliver and return it for me. My husband jumped in and said, "well, I did it...never again." We'll see. We raised money for a mission trip to help rebuild the Katrina devastated areas. Thank you again. Lisa E."
